Welcome to Waleswood Sports Cricket Club !

Waleswood traces it’s roots back to the year 1002 when it was mentioned in the Doomsday Book. More recently Waleswood Colliery opened in 1856 and was owned privately by Holford & Skinner.

The Cricket club was founded in 1904 and facilities were put in place on land adjacent to the colliery to incorporate cricket, football, tennis and bowls. The colliery closed in 1948 but the Club remained and joined the Bassetlaw and District Cricket league in 1967.

After a temporary move to Wales High School during 1992,  new facilities were provided by British Coal on Mansfield Road close to the original ground. At the same time the club became a Charitable Trust.
